Well sorry for the lapse in entries! Winter came with a Vengence and didn't want to quit!
Winter Road trapping was dismal due to the large amounts of Snow we recieved.I am not complaining about the Snow as most of it was "Good Snow". People think I am nuts because I refer to some Snow like that. For us here in the Great Lakes Region the water Levels have continually gone down over the past number of years. With the Good Snow from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Coast we will see the Levels rise somewhat this Summer.
During the Couse of the Winter we were to Build and Erect an Osprey Platform. We managed to get it done admidst all of the Weather Delays. I am glad to say that it is already in Use and Nest Construction and Mating are underway!
We have done some Spring Hawk Banding , but the weather went straight from Winter to Summer it seems and the migration seems to reflex this somewhat. None the less we have Banded 11 New Hawks this Spring . We will continue for another week or 2 and than move over to Dickey Birds!
